Hey PRE advocates, take a look at this announcement from Advocates for Youth whose tag line is, Young, Powerful, and Taking OverThey fight for sexual “rights and justice,” claiming young people understand that reproductive and sexual health and rights are inextricably tied to social justice and the fight for liberation. But even if your children do not attend the local public school, they and their friends cannot avoid the on-line content promoted by Advocates for Youth, now the Busybodies Club!

Advocates for Youth, as in “minors” says they “envision a society in which all young people are valued, respected and treated with dignity; sexuality is accepted as a healthy part of being human; and youth sexual development is normalized and embraced. In such a world, all youth and young adults are celebrated for who they are and afforded honest, affirming, inclusive sex education; access to confidential, universal sexual health services; and the economic, educational, and social power to exercise their bodily autonomy and make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.   Find Out All About the Opill! Advocates for Youth announced their newest campaign, the BusyBodies Club, with a kick off  Zoom presentation all about the Opill, the first over-the-counter birth control pill. Guest presenters featured are “Dr. Lin-Fan Wang, a board-certified family medicine physician, and Sriha Srinivasan, a member of the #FreeThePill youth council and Opill user to answer all your questions about Opill.” Dr. Wang’s experiences as a queer Taiwanese American femme informs her clinical and advocacy work in sexual and reproductive health, LGBTQ+ health, and adolescent health.   Long Term Campaign for Your Minor Child The new national long-term campaign to educate young people on sexual health and reproductive rights topics, works to fight common misconceptions, eliminate confusion, and “pre-bunk” sex education information. Through digital and in-person activations, they claim to educate the public and give folks the tools to make informed decisions about their sexual lives. All campaign activities will encourage folks to visit the Advocates Academy landing page at   advocatesforyouth.org/thebusybodiesclub  for a consolidated, easy-to-understand library of sex ed information.   Take Action!
